If anyone on your Christmas list was looking for the Limas Sweed jersey, you're in luck, as it will now be found on the discount rack at Sports Authority. The always reliable Post Gazette just broke the news that the Steelers plan to sign veteran wideout Joey Galloway today, after placing Sweed on the non-football illness reserve. This move very well spell the end of a remarkably unremarkable tenure in the Burgh by Sweed. One can only wonder what Sweed's mysterious illness is,...dropitis???
The inside note here is that the Steelers may also be planning on more four receiver sets in the remaining pair of games, as they used with tremendous success in their recent victory over the Green Bay Packers.
perhaps the extra shoulder pads caused all of Sweed's drops...

any thoughts on PSU? Another big game loss for our QB?
well...this is after the fact - but these are my thoughts. First off - thank God he is done. Not a fan of #17. I think the coaches thought he was the second coming of M-Rob. Sorry Charlie, M-Rob might not have been that great of a passer, but he was tough and a leader. His leadership took that team all the way to an Orange Bowl victory over Bowden.
I guess we will see who guides us next year. The o-line will be seasoned as well as the wide outs. But other positions will have turnover this year.
Let's look at the LB position. It was so great to sit back for years and see Poz, Connor and Lee go back-to-back-to-back. What a treat!!! Hell, MP and I saw Poz his freshman year vs Wisconsin. He was in there and making plays.
As yo ucan tell - the Nits have a special place in my heart. And watching that game today was tough. I wanted to puke through the whole 4th quarter. I thought was watching a carbon copy of the 2009 Steelers. o drives the ball for 3 quarters, gets some gifts and only cashes in with field goals. Then the D falls apart in the 4th. Like I said - I wanted to puke (ask the wife).
We'll see what fate lies ahead for this program. People need to realize that PSU is a top 15 to top 20 program. They are no longer a top 10 or top 5. Every so often, we'll make a run...but that is about it.
Anywho - I've rambled in many directions. I am glad they won and am looking forward to next season. BTW - what a shitty field!!!
AG is spot on on the PSU ramblings!
D Clark never came up big when he needed to, and LSU is not what they were a few years ago.
The Program is now stuck in this 2-3 loss annual pattern. In the Big Ten, that means you win one tough game, loose two tough games, and win the games you are supposed to win.
Next year will be tough, it is more than just Temple on the non conf.
On the Steelers, well, what can you say. Nice to see them win today and take a 9-7 season to the books. That said, the D is sad. Farrior looks old, corners are weak, and pass rush is spotty. How the hell can a # 3 QB make a run at us in the 4th Q? Might need some coaching changes to right this ship.
Should be an interesting off season....
GO PENS!!!!!!

a-dawg's NFL Wild Card weekend review -
Bengals/Jets: I love that the J-E-T-S exposed the BUngles for who they are - frauds!! Palmer sucks...Ocho-whatever is soft...and the D is weak. Benson had a great game - too bad no one else did. I might be rooting for the Jets from the AFC.
Cowboys/Eagles: I guess Wade has a job next year. At least McNabb was man enough to shoulder the blame. Although I watched most of the game - I could care less about these two teams.
Pats/Ravens: some are saying that the Steelers need to re-tool. Well, I'll tell ya another team that needs to re-tool...the much hated Patriots. I loved to see Tom Teriffic crap all over the field in the 1st quarter. I haven't seen so many wounded ducks flying around a football field since my cousin made me watch old Redskins footage when Billy Kilmer was QB. Loved every second of it. Although I HATE the Ravens too - I actually have a smidgen of respect for them. They play tough football and don't have spy cameras all over the field. The Pats are frauds and they will never win a SB again with Billa-cheat.
Cardinals/Packers: what a game!!! Can't believe the Pack got back into it. And to think - they almost won on the first play of OT. Instead, they lost it on the 3rd play. Glad OT was over - my dinner was getting cold.
NEXT WEEK: I think the AFC favorites will hold serve while the road NFC teams might win both. Hopefully we see some good games!
Hearing that Limas is in the funny farm. Can anyone confirm?
funny farm! Nice...
Lets harvest some Limas Beans!
