Big Ben can add a few more items to his wish list; a dozen roses and some fancy chocolates to send to his scorned and sullen receiver, Hines Ward. Ward, commonly regarded as the NFL's toughest wide out, showed his deep sensitive side by taking offense with Ben's public coveting of a tall receiver. Insiders close to the team suggest that this is not the first time that Ben has shown a bias against the vertically challenged. Some sources claim that part of Ben's pre-game ritual is to repeatedly listen to Randy Newman's "Short People". Ben has also been known to throw parties in which entrance is restricted to those 6'3" and over. More on this newest Post-Gazette induced Steeler melodrama as it unfurls.

Ward should just cry like he does every time they get knocked out of the playoffs. He's worse than T.O.
The P-G does this every year during the off season. Just another attempt to make news by stirring up controversy. This will now get blown way out of porportion.
Ward deserves Ced Wilson's lady friend. Ben also said something like, "my receivers are amazing, I don't want to take anything away from them." this disclaimer was probably not brought to Ward's attention. The Steelers clearly need another WR, preferably one who is big, tall, and fast. Ward seems to think it insulting for Pgh. to want to bring in another guy while he is still playing, he also clings to the logic that the Steelers won Super Bowl XL because they got rid of Plax. I personally think Parker should have been the MVP of Super Bowl XL.
Mondesi broke down Ward's comments pretty well. Ward said that Brady doesn't whine for WR's, but he DID, and he got three top notch free agents in return this past off season. All in all, this is irresponsible journalism by the Gazette. This isn't really a story.
Ward has had his little feeling hurt many a time as a steeler. When they drafted Troy edwards, Plaxico, went out and got Ced...I am pretty sure he thinks that we should run a one receiver set.
take away the one breakaway run and parker was 9 carries for 18 yards in superbowl xl.
Ward ran once that game for 18 yards.
